Live Shows: Atmosphere | Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ - The Van Buren - August 20, 2026

The Atmosphere and Friends Tour brought a night of underground hip hop to The Van Buren in Phoenix, AZ, on August 20th, 2026.

In addition to Atmosphere, the lineup included Rhymsayers labelmates Abstract Rude and DJ Abilities, along with West Coast veterans The Pharcyde.

Atmosphere’s touring DJ Plain Ole Bill stepped behind the turntables to get the night started. The set delivered a heavy dose of Golden Era hip hop that included tracks from EPMD and Boogie Down Productions.

Abstract Rude delivered well-crafted rhymes and hard-hitting beats. The 30-minute set reached a crescendo as Rude was joined on stage by Shaun Harris, Supreme85, and BeOnd.

Abstract Rude’s South Central Thynk Taynk re-issue is out now on Rhymesayers.

DJ Abilities got the crowd moving with an eclectic set that featured everything from The Doors to The Pixies and Nirvana. The set also included a heavy dose of hip hop from Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

The Pharcyde kept the party going as DJ Cell warmed up the crowd. Imani, SlimKid3, and Fat Lip exchanged verses on classics “Passin’ Me By,” “Ya Mama,” and “Runnin’.”

Atmosphere capped off the night with a 90-minute set featuring a setlist that spanned their prolific 30-year career. Highlights included “GodLovesUgly,” “Sunshine,” and “Party for the Fight to Write.”
