Live Shows: Almost Monday | Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix, AZ - The Van Buren - October 23, 2026

Indie pop band Almost Monday brought their Thank God It’s Almost Monday tour to Phoenix, AZ, on Friday, October 23rd.

Named after their sophomore album, the tour gave Phoenix a night to remember forever. The show began with an electric opening by Southern California-based group Rec Hall. Composed of John Barry (Lead Vocals), Lance Meliota (Drums), and Ben Tyrell (Guitar); the band kicked off the night with my personal favorite song of theirs, Back To Us. Other songs such as Delay, She Doesn’t Get it, and Desire got the packed-out crowd at the Van Buren dancing and singing along. The performance set the mood perfectly for Almost Monday, as the crowd was left wanting more after their captivating set.

Almost Monday walked out to the titular track off of their new album, Thank God It’s Almost Monday. The crowd was immediately drawn in, eager for the group's alt-pop and indie-rock sound. Almost Monday have an unmistakable sound that can’t help but make you smile and dance along. That feeling of true happiness, emotion, and endless possibility was felt in the crowd that night.

Lead vocalist Dawson Daugherty danced along to the music the entire set, bringing a remarkably fun energy to the show with several enthralling moves. Cole Clisby (guitar) and Luke Fabry (Bass) showcased their masterful skills as the sounds of their playing rang throughout the venue. The energy of this performance was unlike anything I had seen before. I went from having a relatively normal day to being exceptionally happy. The entire crowd was engaged from start to finish, singing and dancing along with the band to a range of songs from their discography; including Can’t Slow Down, Enjoy the Ride, Cough Drops, and more.

If you haven’t already, give the band a listen - and see them on the Thank God It’s Almost Monday tour. It’s a show you won’t want to miss. The captivating energy, groovy sounds, and impressive skills of the group will have you leaving the show with a night to remember forever.
